Florida Real Estate

Florida is part of the United States, located in the southeastern region of the United States mainland. It was the 27th state admitted to the United States. Most of Florida is surrounded by ocean, with the Gulf of Mexico to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

It is called the "Sunshine State" because of its warm climate – subtropical in many regions of the state, with true tropical climate in the far southern portions near Key West. The state has a few large urban areas, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando are the largest cities in the state. The population of Florida is over 18 million, per the US Census Bureau, the 4th most populated state in the U.S. Tallahassee is the state capital and Miami is the largest metro area. Residents of Florida are properly known as "Floridians".

The state has many attractions, greater Miami is the only metropolitan area in the United States whose borders encompass two national parks. You can hike through pristine Everglades National Park or ride on glass-bottom boats across Biscayne National Park. Cape Canaveral is America's launch pad for space flights. The largest lake in Florida is Lake Okeechobee and is known for its famous bass fishing. Fort Lauderdale is known as the Venice of America because the city has 185 miles of local waterways. Key Largo is known as the Dive Capital of the World. Venice is known as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World where visitors and residents collect prehistoric shark teeth. Disney World, Key West, Orlando, and Destin are also among some of the most popular attractions.
